Typical NH quality hotel
Location was great for exploring the city. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful.
Had to pay for parking and the dog making it expensive overall.

Location of hotel, pet friendly rooms and value for money.
Location of hotel, pet friendly rooms and value for money. Good base to stay overnight before catching the ferry to the UK.
System had broken down meaning check-in was rather slow. But the check-in staff dealt with it well. Room this time was is a little small but adequate enough for an overnight stay. Tight car parking spaces are not for the faint hearted.

Very Good
Good location. Very close to the ferry and convenient for the city. Dog friendly, although like most of Spain, they aren't allowed in any public areas. Good breakfast, which we took separately. It's good to have private parking. We parked in the indoor car park. Access and spaces are tight. There's also an outdoor car park.
Very firm mattress but that's just preference, I guess.

What was the highlight of NH Ciudad de Santander
Very Good
Great location near to restaurants, the seafront and shops. About 20 minutes walk (uphill) from the ferry port and bus station. We had a lovely airy and quiet room at the back of the hotel overlooking private houses and gardens. Clean.
Unfortunately the smell of drains in the bathroom was very strong. We got rid of it for a while by running the taps but it came back. The bedroom was fine. The room also needed some hooks for coats - it rains a lot in Santander and some USB charging points.
